Single Crystal X-ray Diffractometry
The Rigaku Oxford SuperNova single-crystal X-ray diffractometer equipped with a Dectris Pilatus 200 K area detector and a Mova X-ray micro sourcer located at the University of Padova, Department of Geosciences. The diffractometer is controlled by the CrysalisPro software (Rigaku Oxford Diffraction) and data is also processed using this software.

With this instrumentation, we can analyze mineral inclusions in diamond <40 microns in size.
Micro-Raman Spectroscopy
The Witec alpha 300R Raman Spectrometer with the Zeiss microscope attachment (10x, 20x, 50x LD, 50x, 100x objectives), 532 and 785nm lasers and two spectrometers (spectrometer 1: UHTS 600 (VIS), spectrometer 2: UHTS 400 (NIR). The Raman spectrometer is located at University of Padova, Department of Geosciences.
Scanning Electron Microscopy
The TESCAN S9000G GMU FEG-FIB scanning electron microscope (Oxford Instruments) equipped with a panchromatic cathodoluminescence (CL) detector and EDX, WDS, EBSD, and a FIB, located at the University of Padova, Department of Geosciences.
Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy
The ThermoFischer Nicolet iN10 FTIR spectrometer equipped with both a room-temperature DTGS and liquid nitrogen-cooled MCT-A detector capable of collecting FTIR spectra from 7800 to 450 cm-1. The FTIR spectrometer is located at the University of Padova, Department of Geosciences.
Funded by ERC starting grant 101041620 (INHERIT, PI: Martha Pamato)
Elemental Analyzer - Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry
The Thermo Scientific EA Isolink Delta Q Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer system located at the University of Padova, Department of Geosciences.
Funded by ERC starting grant 101041620 (INHERIT, PI: Martha Pamato)
Diamond Polishing
The diamond polishing bench with central scaife (polishing wheel), stationary and motorized tang stages, RPM controller, and dust extraction unit located at the University of Padova, Department of Geosciences.
Funded by ERC starting grant 101041620 (INHERIT, PI: Martha Pamato)
